Edgar always there
up the alley on
Amity St. just a few
blocks away.

He used to come with
me to the Cultured
Pearl on Tuesday nights
late 90's gig, whispering
in my ear about the sands
slippin' through your
fingers and the dream
within a dream.

Bob Young on bass, Ron Ray
on his horn, and together
the 4 of us would take
flight to the land of Nevermore.

I ride by Fayette and Greene St.'s
damn near every day, look over to
left and say a lil Annabelle Lee,
El Dorado, and of course the Dream
Within a Dream, look at his face on
that monument and nod, then I'm on
my wired way...........................
