it's not "uninformed"-- it's based on actual research i've done.

and i'm not the one here straight up calling other people "idiots," now am i?  sheesh...

never mind.

The movement, Nazz, learn to read things correctly! Research??? what do you really know about these organizations? Very little, they're beyond you.

They're idiots. A lesser species.

okay, point taken.  my mistake.  you mean "the movement" -- nothing personal.  sorry about that.

yeah.  just as "soulless, blind-to-corporate-fraud right-wingnut idiots" would refer to no more than "the movement" . . .

gotcha.  no harm, no foul . . .

Quote
they're beyond you.

yeah, that's nice.  like i'm too dull to research articles and reports, or study aspects of american history, or read the new testament, or what have you.  okay.

i'll back up a little here.  socialist economies have not provided wealth on the level of capitalist economies-- that's a historical fact.  and i can see how this macro-truth ties in with the more personalized theme(s) of the poem.  i tend to look at "bigger pictures"-- maybe bigger than needed or intended at times.  i am no "hater of capitalism"-- but we can't turn a blind eye to its destructive aspects either.  the "defeat of wholesale socialism" (as in, not as viable as capitalism) to me implies that socialism should not be the dominant system-- but it does NOT necessarily imply the "victory of pure, unregulated capitalism," nor does it imply that every last "socialistic" function of government be eradicated.  i thought we figured that out in 1929...

let bard go w his ravings- when i met him he seemed nice enough- i don't see where he's coming from? bard- liten up-
how is yr health-you do not need the aggravation
golfing buddies don't join the site?
saw- don't go- so what if there's a lot of politcal zaniness? does it reach up and smack u in the face?
dino- what abt brecht?- what abt political poetry?- yr point as to the way it is written is great- but there must b a marriage of content to structure, rhythm, imagery, etc.
yes- we do go far afield-
look at keith's site where no one talks abt what poetry is- at least we're doing that here
even h e mantel's verse is allowed
bardster- what do you make of surrealists?

eg: a lobster pranced
on a lonely beech
who gnu they could?

no humans around

i didn't see it as stalking-- more like "growing a spine" to weigh in with commentary from another p.o.v.  (which is presumably my right to free speech as well, isn't it?)

but . . . one must respect the thread-starter's wishes.

saddle up !

i like this place.  they let you argue here.  not like some of those wussy sites where the mods poke their nose in every twenty minutes and tell you to play nice-- as if we were toddlers fighting over a stick of gum or something . . .

oh, and, hey steve... don't leave !!

the guy at the other end of tte bar says: "yr mama"!!!
y retort- no- YOUR mama
then bard chimes in and everybuddy starts flailing away
it's kined of like ireland during the trubbles
