This will be a brief (sort of outlaw) review-

Julie Fisher introduced the featured poets after an open mike of about 5 readers-all phenomenally brilliant but...I forget their names....except for Julie Fisher-with a memorable poem about being killed in Hampden by a pink flamingo!!

Christine Stewart opened with moving poetry- some of the topics? going to St Paul's school with Md. poet laureat (lariat?)- Stanley Plumley; her experiments with lipstick as a child; a botched liaison with some one in the same apt. building- what else?- the poems were immediately interesting.

Michael Fallon followed with poems from his latest two books- Michael reads with real intensity- poems about dead friends, poems in the personae of his Mr. Tumulty who investigates very serious universal questions....somewhat drier, more speculative poems.

As always- Minas a fablous venue for poetry and this audience of 10 or so made for a very appreciative and easy going reading.
