I see I have a lot of reviews here but unless some one complains I will keep posting- figure people want to know what went on- even tho it is sort of a no no if u read in it to review something- BUT.....
I enjoy putting on events- have done so at the Jail for years.
To me, in this reading- David Bergman stood out! He reads like a poet should- to me- full of under stated drama. His poetry is so involving and passionate and revealing-
Greg Mosson is fabulous in an understated way.
Clarinda Harris was outstanding and Reginald Harris- he almost stole the show- and I am glad he red last- he has a poem about Baltimore City which he partly sings- with a refrain "Magic City" altho the poem tells about the seamier sides of B more as well.
Mela and Ann from Hopkins were great- altho I explained- I had thot the meisters of the Writing Seminars would like to read- but they were , just...didn't return phone calls and the Secretary told me- "Have you considered that they may not WANT to read?" in that tone of voice? like some kind of bureaucrat?
Ned and Jane from Loyola are wonderful poets.
Chris George- we know, from PIB - always is a winner and that's everybody who red but for me- couldn't some one please review me? aw, who gives a sh t!

alleluia for Eberhardt... shoots from the hip, reads for the hip, is hip.  Hip hip hooray for a reading well arranged and mounted by dave frog-in-bog.  Reading took place and was well attended despite a raging windstorm outside.  I avoided getting a parking ticket despite parking opposite the bookstore and lacked the change, hurried in not wishing to be late.  I think the event went well because each poet presented a good variety of works and read strongly.  Reginald Harris, featured in the latest issue of Loch Raven Review, ended the reading performing some jazz-tinged works, including singing some lines that echoed the black community of Baltimore and jazz influences.  Look for an interview with him coming up in the Spring issue of LRR.  Photographs below kindly provided by dave frog-in-bog.

A shot of Chris George and Clarinda Harriss in foreground and of the nice attentive audience.

Chris George gets his stuff together at Town and Gown Reading.  David Bergman in purplish sweater in right front row looking toward the camera.  Reggie Harris partially visible in the back row.

In wrapt attention. . . .
