it was standing room only at club zou zou last friday and the poetry was hot and sultry. first up, the amorous stylings of clarissa melissa - her poems of the apiary had the room buzzing like drones around the honey! next: blue boy richardson played zither and did a stirring rendition of " jerusalem i like your style." after a brief interlude in the alley, things started to heat up like sterno on a scrotum. the sugar twins read backwards and forwards simultaneously creating a poetic cacophony not heard since the babel readings at club dada. haiku temptress unloaded a haiku daisy chain that enthralled the audience for 6 hours - it might still be going on for all i know. who says methedrine and poetry doesn't mix? haiku temptress begs to differ and her performance seemed to back her up. last up, the poetic musings of zade (she has an accent mark somewhere in her name, but i can't figure out how to type it) who read her poems while submerged in a glass-lined tank - the bubbles were soothing in their cadence. all in all, i'd say i got my money's worth.
