Beauty is the Rose, one day to wilt

Holding onto the shards of my broken dreams
The blood dripping into scarlet streams
From my weary hands

Agonizing over the time I've lost
Gone forever, a dreamers cost
Trying to steal back the hourglass sands

The mirror of my soul reflecting dull
The lines in my face I mull
Tracing the centuries back

Youthful dreams I once had
Now leave me sad
Faded to the endless black

The future I saw, betrayed
As my strength frayed
Leaving me withered and old

No record of my past
Or stones I've cast
Nay no heralds my story told

Yet in that last breath
Just before the ice of death
I smile in spite

Be I forgotten into fates weave
I will not conceive
Forever grasping shards I will fight

I dig "steal back the hourglass sands," "dripping into scarlet streams," and "ice of death."  As for "shards of my broken dreams," and "mirror of my soul,"-- hmmm..
