No meat today. It is either fishburgers or soy burgers--Bocaburgers!!! Or tofu
Wasn't tofu a serious Chinese hi-coo-ist?
The ghost of John Donne is riding westward today. The ghost of T.S.Eliot is pounding on his cyberspace computer keys. Yeats is awaiting Easter Sunday 1916.
The poem here---I like it---irreverent from a traditional view but acceptable certainly in a non-traditional view.
I think the essence of Good Friday, of what we could learn from it, is lost because it has lost its spark for exciting serious discussion. Cruelty and injustice are rife in the world but we don't really protest against them or root them out of ourselves. We live with it.
The universe and this life in it are bizzarre. Why an expiation for sin when sin was built into the structure by definition---God is Perfect; Man is imperfect. It follows that given enough time Man will screw up. There are some logical flaws in certain theologies. Oh, I think copping out on the "It is a Mystery" clause is an absurdity itself. Anything and everything that defies logic or is a contradiction to logic can be called a "mystery".
The point of Good Friday is the suffering, the stupidity and cruely of authorities and the mobs, and the ideal of sacrifice. But all of this should be questioned and explored, not just repeated like a bad nursery rhyme.
That is too serious.
Bard, I like your poem. Dino-stotle, well, he has taken the hypocritic oath & you know what that means.

Hi Mike
I like the updating of the crucifixion story and expressing it in everyday modern terms. Nice job, Mike.
