Hi all! Guess what?

We're going to do an internet radio show!

Cenacle (Ray) ... a member of the Studio Eight website ( http://studioeight.tv/phpbb ) who produces his own SpiritPlants Radio show (Within's Within) has offered to produce and air a show for Studio Eight and for others who want to participate, including PIB! Yay! You can visit SpiritPlants Radio home page at http://spfradio.yage.net to find out more about the station, or tune in live right now: http://yage.net:9000/listen.pls

Would you like to be on a Spoken Word Poetry and Music Show? Do you have audio recordings of your poetry and/or music?

We would be happy to collaborate with PIB poets and musicians who have audio material they'd like to air on the show.

Please reply here to this thread and/or contact me by private message or email if you'd like to participate.

(Note to Julie – if there are PIB members who participate, we will of course credit PIB and promote PIB site as part of the promotional efforts for the radio show)

I'm psyched about this project! This will be so much fun!

Awesome Doreen!

My guess is that a lot of us DO nOT have audio recordings...

What would you recommend to remedy that?

Hey Julie ...

You can get an inexpensive radio shack mic ($20? just guessing), plug it into the jack in the back of your PC or Mac, then download this free and rather simple-to-use audio recording application ..... Audacity
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

Then speak into the mic (or play your music) and save as a .wav file or .mp3 file.

Also... there are some PIB members who I know have audio files already as there have already been recordings made of some Baltimore poets and CDs put out ... so if there's no copyright issues with airing those recordings on an internet radio show as long as they are properly credited, that's an idea, too.

Oh and I'm pretty sure some cell phones have audio recording capabilities which can be emailed to yourself... isn't that the case? I don't know much about cell phones but I've seen the kids using this tool... that's another idea.

But a cheap mic and Audacity would work great!

Just some ideas here....

The plan is to do a one-hour show and then move forward to start doing them regularly if we like how it's going.... so there's time......
