the current Poet Laureate of the US, Kay Ryan
has determined that Lightning Rod has written
The World's Worst Poem

This poem is so bad that
one reading can do irreparable damage
especially to the unsuspecting or the weak of mind

it's so caustic and vile and full of bile
the images can make you go blind
to some it just doesn't make sense

so, to protect the frail and innocent
the poem has been placed in a locked and leaden box
and quarantined like the pox

they've pickled it in nitrogen just in case
even the armed guard has a blindfold on his face
you'll never see the World's Worst Poem

But I wrote it.

haha

ok, I'll tell you why I had that link in my memory when I misposted it

The Hillsboro Music Hall is owned by some friends of mine
it's in downtown Hillsboro, tx about 60 miles south of Dallas

they have remodeled it and it has two bars
these guys are in the insurance and finance business and the music hall is just a hobby
I'm supposed to do their websites when they get up and running
but times are hard and they haven't opened it yet

this is why the internet is so insidious.... i saw this happen yesterday. LR's totally unrelated link posted to your poem, Dino, and I wondered why in the world he would do that. Then it dawned on me that he probably had the link already copied on his clipboard (i guess they call it a clipboard in PC language rather than mac).... for some other purpose... and meant to copy another link and paste it but pasted the link that was already there by accident. Not trying to put words in his mouth but I think that's what he means by "why I had that link in my memory" ..... i call it a clipboard... not "in my memory"... sigh... fricking internet...

Sorry, not my business..just as an observer, this is what it looked like.

Once not too long ago... I was writing a poem with the line "this is a nightmare" repeated in it several times. I was in the middle of working on it and went to check my email and when I answered someone's email, I meant to copy and paste a link to something... but instead, on my clipboard were the words "this is a nightmare." I wasn't paying attention I guess... I'd been copying and pasting that line in my poem. But I inadvertently pasted it into a reply to someone's email when I meant to paste something else and she answered back, "Oh Doreen, I'm so sorry things are so hard on you that it's all a nightmare!" ... LOL!!!... I had to explain my goof and let her know I was fine and it was just a line from a poem I had on my clipboard and that I meant to paste something else.

The pitfalls of using keyboard shortcuts... cut, copy, paste, undo, cut copy, paste, undo.. all day long .... and now my left pinky is numb... no kidding... nerve damage

..........

And now about LRod's poem.... Congratulations!

I wrote the worst poem of 2008 and didn't even get recognized for it.

it's so caustic and vile and full of bile

this line made my girlfriend wet
so I buried her in a box

just goes to show you society's worst poem is the dregs of society's erotica

HugMe, don't get me started on what makes a bad poem. I'll get myself in trouble. Just read some of my books....haha

scott, a wet girlfriend is worth more than a poem in a box any day.
