keep waiting for the wisdom
but it ain't gonna happen
it took five decades
to get this foolish
its been my life's work
at school, i'm an artifact
an escapee from the reliquary
odd man, over and out
but i'm hip, i tell them
but they don't believe me
i'm the wizard - i'm dr. strange
ignore the old man behind the curtain
he's a figment of his imagination
call him sir and break his tin heart
he'll be dead when you're his age anyway

it must be surreal to be immersed in the precocious pools of young academiacs ...
I am quite fond of many younger people, i admire their enthusiasm, but as we know dino, they've got a lot of living to do to catch up to our experience, if they only knew....the younger people at work, much younger, see me the same way,
look at the old dinosaur over there, and few are interested in the tricks of the trade, they would rather plow through the job with their eyes closed than ask for advice from a codger......god bless their little hearts....

yep. i started back to school a few years ago for a little while and they gave me a startled respectful distance as dad sat among the lunge into the future. felt out of place but it was pleasant to be surrounded by the future talking, chattering, and studying beside me. liked ending especially. liked the poem.

time is so fleeting you would think that people would see that their time is limited and minimal no matter what age you are. age chauvinism - guess it cuts stupidly both ways. thanks geezer, codger, and sir.

One big reason I'm into bdsm & D/s is because I find a greater respect for experience and wisdom there then in the general population.  It may have something to do with the fact that people here have a need to feel safe because there are some physical risks if you don't choose your partners carefully but I also think many of the people are more well thought out and open minded. (that said, there are also a lot of jack-offs)

A very honest poem. I think the last line is magnificent. This poem goes in a future book----this is realism.
