dear mr. poet,

funny, but you don't sound like mr. poet. you don't write like him either - what's the deal on that?

dear the undersigned,

a pox romana on you and your ill-conceived descendants! you can have your mr. poet; i grow fatigued of these squawking emanations and maladjusted miasmic mewlings that flow like pyroclastic effluvium from your gaping vesuvius-like orifices. adieu!

signatori,

count vasari

Dear Mr Poet,

Have I, in my retirement, complimented Mr Poet, for having reached 50,000 views?  A stunning archievement, I dare day, remind me a little of Jack Kerouac.

Sincerely,
Max Bet

dear readership:

if you know me, mr. poet, then you know i'm a straight up kind of guy. i give credit where - and when - credit is due. that being the case, i would be remiss in my mr. poetness if i were not to publicly thank my public - in this case - boston dukie, mr. dithers, and the venerable friends of wu for their efforts in securing my release from the basement of the vatican. for a basement, it wasn't all that bad. still, a prison is a prison - even if it's mink-lined. i would also like to thank my old school chum, higgins!, who abbreviated his tireless efforts in search of the turkic glottal fricative, in order to add his expertise in diplomacy to convince count vasari that he was kind of way out of line in abducting me without my permission - not to mention slipping me a mickey. it was a good mickey - i'm not bitching about that - but he could've asked first. at any rate, he IS count vasari and is used to the prerogatives that come with the blood royale. i forgive him for these... indiscretions.

dear readership (you know who you are!),

every year around this time, i feel obligated to justify my position as mr. poet - the leading poetry aesthete in the western world. there is one reason, and one reason alone, that places me at the pinnacle of your poetry experience - that being, quite simply, that i am the best that is or ever was. i write better poetry, i have monstrous intelligence, i am incredibly handsome, and i have a vast reservoir of social grace and savoir faire. add to this my tireless efforts on behalf of the kids and you've got a human poetic powerhouse - a poet you can look up to and emulate. forget these other jokers - the snooty-snoots and social climbers - the moldering cognoscenti. a bunch of losers and drop shots that try to be poetic, but stumble over their own shuddering inadequacies. will they ever learn - not likely. ignore them and they might go away.
