Dear Mr Poet,
Do you enjoy reading?  The virgin Vidal used to say there were no readers. Even poetry suffers.

Sincerely,
Mr Athenian

dear mr. athenian,

the virgin vidal is a giant in the art that we refer to as poetry. his aenied, though a debasement of the homeric cycle, is still quite readable as far as a bastardization goes. vidal was the supreme bastardizer. i feel quite comfortable with that - as i'm sure the virgin vidal would agree if he wasn't dead as a fucking dodo.

Dear Mr. Poet,
Do we need an exorcism? An intervention? a Reading?

dear mr. poet,

you are so right (but you knew that).  and to make it worse--- the goofball one-word "purists" insist you can't use the title as part of the alleged "poem."  if you could use the title, you might at least have a poetic puncher's chance .... a one word "poem" is like a one-color "painting" . . . it makes no splash, no noise . . . like one hand "clapping" . . .

might be a cognoscenti plot.  dave, the mole ... keep an eye on him.

dear mcgruff, the crime dog,

i don't see no question, but since you are a crime dog i'll let it slide. they are goofballs - each and every one - god bless them. except for the mole man. he's a cog in overalls - a social class chameleon of too many fucking colors.

dear mr. poet,

i think the crime dog is onto something.  the infiltrator . . . and he doesn't even disguise it well, always speaking in his own little cog dialect, using words like "thot," and "abt," which of course aren't even words.  and then there's the irrational obsession with the "new yorker" . . . a dead giveaway, don't you think?

dear concerned snitch,

if it walks like a duck, then it's a cog. simple math. you don't write letters to the new yorker unless you've got some sort of hidden agenda. perhaps his peculiar lingo is some sort of code.

dear man with blue-gloved nurse,

it took long enough! by virtue of its densely-packed artistry, imagination, and truthful - yet entertaining - honesty, there should be over a million readers or more. still, it is better than saltwater taffy; but, not quite as good as bonomo's turkish taffy. i say thank you in a thankful manner.

dear mr. poet,

i have it from multiple and reliable sources that you are an impostor and a charlatan - i'm not sure which, but definitely one of the two - maybe both! can you prove otherwise?

dear mr. poet, wherever you are,

we suspect foul play.  this has all the signs of count vasari's sinister handiwork.  i warned everyone about him . . .

oh yes, question, question . . .

what's your favorite scotch?

dear mcgruff the crime dog,

it is I, mr.  poet. obviously, I have not disappeared - these rumours are generated by scandal-mongers,  papparazzi,  and other urban riff-raff.  being a crime dog, I am sure you are familiar with men of such ilk and fibre.  I'm rather fond of scotch tape, but why do you ask?
