today
Botticelli would have given Venus an arm long tattoo
and she would be astride a Harley
not standing on a dainty shell
and her sex, not a strand of hair, would be fingered
and her eyes would be defiant

and not zephyrs
but the thump or hump of rock-rap
and a Christina Dior or a Bergdorf Goodman boy
would hold the magic cloth
to wrap the BBW mama
with a well-dined illusion

I love this...a contemporary, hip peek, of what might be, in a different age, with juiced up eyes...pretty cool danno

This is very cool, and I was just putting this on my power point for next week's lecture!  Venus would look totally different through today's eyes, nicely done Irish.
