The cruel realities of
"I gotta make it."
....the hunger.......
search for acceptance,
mail in the next arcticle
or manuscript ya bled.
That ain't the writer I
wanna be.

Happy to be a poet, with
an audience and a stage...
....performing.....keeping
the thought short, sweet,
and perchance to dream...
....complete.

Happy to be a poet,
acceptance?....just give me
applause and like a hog
lookin' for the next place
to dine, I'll get up in the
spotlight with a chance to
shine, cause I'm happy to
be a poet.............
