Minás Konsolas and his wife Peggy Hoffman are awesome! They own and curate Minás Boutique and Galllery. (www.minasgalleryandboutique.com) Minás is an artist and a legendary Baltimore arts supporter. Peggy Hoffman is also an artist and utterly complements Minás is his support of the Baltimore arts scene. Minás Gallery and Boutique has become an iconic resource for the literary arts in particular. Minás and Peggy are directly responsible for the early success of www.PoetryInBaltimore.com because the Gallery hosted the first reading March of 2005- Thank you Peggy and Minás!

WHERE is parking? There is street parking, and Sundays parking is free.

HOW MUCH does Essential Sundays cost?

We request $3 and this covers costs to produce the series and pay the feature poet/s. Poets deserve some recognition for their hard work in the form of a little cash.

WHAT kind of poetry will I see at Essential Sundays?

At Essential Sundays we have no rules about poetry. However, we do like to showcase poets who are diligent at their craft.

WHAT time does Essential Sundays start?

Doors are open 11 a.m. at the Boutique and Gallery for your visit. The reading starts at 4pm. We begin with an open mic.  Come a little early to shop and reserve your spot on the open mic list.

Can I feature at Essential Sundays?

Come to Essential Sundays. Introduce yourself. We know a lot of poets but not everyone. Show your support of the poetry community –listen to other poets, sign up for open mic.  Let us know you’re interested. Even if you are an established poet, make contact.

You can also email samples of your work. To Julie(at)poetryinbaltimore.com. Two or three poems gives us the best sense of your work and which poets to schedule with you.
